160 people equipped themselves with lifesaving skill this weekend

Using the social enterprise model, St. John Ambulance of Malaysia at the National Headquarters organises free 2-hour CPR+AED courses for the community. The costs for the free classes are being sustained by the paid corporate first aid classes we offer.

This weekend, 5 classes were organised at UOB Bank (Menara Citibank), LAW Partnership (Bangsar South) and the SJAM National Headquarters with Ambition, Hakita and a public class.

A total of 160 participants were taught the urgency of resuscitation, chain of survival, cardio pulmonary resuscitation and the usage of automated external defibrillator.

The peak was a total of 55 participants at the National Headquarters today. The CPR+AED class at NHQ is being held monthly on the last Sunday.

Trainers include Wong Sin Jie, Chew Hoong Ling, Indraini Saminathan, Sueyee Sherlyn Zewi, assisted by Grace Uma Rani, Jeslyn Loo and Dominic Gan.
